About Us

In pursuit of alignment for a lifetime of wholeness.

Everyone deserves a sense of peace and alignment. We offer a space to step into therapy, where it’s safe to slow down, be seen, and start to reconnect with what’s inside.

About Syzygy

“Syzygy” is often used as an astronomical term. It describes the rare alignment objects in space like the sun, moon, and earth during an eclipse. It’s a moment of cosmic connection, of things coming into balance and harmony. At Syzygy Counselling, we believe healing is a lot like that. Life can often feel misaligned, like the pieces don’t quite fit. Therapy teaches us that these parts of ourselves, even the wounded or reactive ones, aren’t broken. They’ve been working hard to protect us in a world that hasn’t always been safe. In session, we don’t try to force change. We witness, we connect, and we help the many “parts” of a person find their way back to each other. With compassion and curiosity, we help you explore the stories, patterns, and protectors that have gotten you this far… and gently guide them toward harmony and embodied peace.

Our Counselling Approach

At Syzygy Counselling, we focus on creating a safe, supportive space where healing and growth can happen. Our work is grounded in Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) and other modern, evidence-based and clinically supported approaches that help people navigate stress, trauma, and life’s challenges. Instead of seeing struggles as “problems,” we view them as survival strategies that once kept you safe. Together, we’ll build stability, strengthen your sense of self, and create new ways of moving forward.

In practice, this means learning skills to calm your nervous system, practicing mindfulness and grounding, and developing tools that support everyday resilience. Over time, counselling helps you reconnect with meaning and alignment. The goal is to create your own inner “syzygy,” where healing and clarity come together.

So, why choose Syzygy Counselling?

Because your inner world, even in chaos, holds the potential for breathtaking alignment.

Because even the darkest nights can lead to moments of tremendous beauty.

And because sometimes, all it takes is a little connection to bring life back into balance.

We hope to walk with you during those moments so that you may find your own sense of syzygy.

I’m Jenessa! I believe that life can be incredibly challenging, and yet, staying connected to the experience of being alive matters deeply. In my work, I aim to help people reconnect with the excitement and wonder of existing, even in the midst of pain or uncertainty. Sometimes that means checking in with the parts of ourselves who were left behind, dismissed, and let down. I believe that when we take the time to care for those parts we can rediscover some joy, curiosity, and whimsy that we might have lost. I am currently finishing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and my approach to therapy is rooted in Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) and other somatic-based practices that help build the capacity to feel safe and exist, even when life feels hard and overwhelming. I specialize in trauma treatment, with experience supporting survivors of violence and abuse, as well as youth. My style is trauma-informed and person-centred, which means that every session is shaped around you — your pace, your needs, and what feels right to you in each moment. You can expect our sessions to feel like a real human interaction, where you can show up exactly as you are and be met with respect. Everyone is welcome here. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, and I strive to create a space that is inclusive, compassionate, and safe for all identities and experiences. My hope is to offer a space where you can slow down, get curious, and begin to feel more at home within yourself.
